Of the 115 islands that comprise the country of Seychelles, it includes 43 granite islands and 72 low coral cays and atolls to explore. The islands are said to feel like sailing through a Garden of Eden. The Seychelles is an exotic cruising ground of breathtaking beauty said to be the most beautiful island group in the world.

The group modified the first ideas with better ones. We got our boats ready then enjoyed a meal together.
Day 1: Mahé – Eden Island Marina Load up and check out. Use the day to provision and board at 4pm
17 from the Afterguard group joined up in the Seychelles. Boarding took a while. Most did pre-provision via the service provided via the charter companies at Eden Island Marina then added missing bits and pieces. Going to St Anne this trip didn't work out due to wind direction. We did take off in the am for the far side of Mahe island to Baie Temay.
Day 3: Baie Vallon
Baie Vallon was a lovely place to visit. The amazing beach and many friendly fish. Aly saw a shark but it didn't bother her. After a full day of playing about all retired to their boats just about the time the 50th anniversary of Seychelles independence party kicked up with music from 9pm -2am. Went to sleep to drums in the night and lots of laughter.
Day 7: Curieuse (8 nm) Oct 6th
Curieuse Island, Turtle Pond, was a notable stop to the island's protected marine reserve. This natural habitat is home to a large population of Aldabra giant tortoises, offering visitors a unique opportunity to observe (and feed) these magnificent creatures up close.
Day 3: La Digue (30 nm) Oct 2nd
The longest stay of the trip with much to do. It was the favorite of all. La Digue is a special treat. No longer ox-carts now small autos and golf carts plus zooming electric bikes.
Anse Source d’Argent is one of the most photographed beaches in the world: huge pink granite boulders set in crystal-clear water… almost surreal.
Day 8: Baie St. Anne - Praslin (8 nm) Oct 7th
There was a bit rain but many from the boats most made the trek by dinghy, cab and van to Valley de Mai. Home of an untouched and protected forest where the rare Coco De Mai coconut trees grow towering jungle like growth. A hedge hog relative was spotted by Rob Osak.
Day 5: Coco Island (2 nm) Oct 4th
Coco Island was a lovely place to stop for snorkeling. The small island remains untouched, the water is exceptionally clear, and the seabed begins just a few metres from the shore. It’s one of the best diving and snorkelling spots in the Seychelles. The colors that are simply incredible.
Day 4: Félicité (3 nm) Oct 3rd
Félicité was a better anchorage for the night. Helicopers and fast power boats were visiting the island creating wakes but the waters were lovely and what a sunset. Some saw Hawksbill turtles, leopard rays, and brightly colored reef fish with just mask and snorkel.
Day 10: Mahe (22nm) Oct 9th exit at 8 am Oct 10th.
Return to enjoy our last night at the Marina. We do a Pot-Luck either on the last night or the last island before heading in. Helps to use up any provisions we didn't get to. If out, we eat out.
Need to spend some of the evening packing up and preparing the boat to turn back to the base for the check-out procedure.
