Full Moon Sails 2025
The Corn Moon, September 7th - Sunday moon rise is 7:35pm Met at 6pm to get the boat ready to slide into the night. After a motor to the top of the Estuary, we set the main. Cleared the Estuary as the moon came up over the cranes of the Port.
Harvest Super-Moon, Oct 5th, 2025 Sunday rises at 6:00 pm-over our shoulders as we moved out of the Estuary. The Super-Moon peak is the 6th at 11:48pm, so look out and up tonight. It is a beautiful moon.
Next Up - 2 more Super Moons!!
Beaver Moon - Nov 5th, Wednesday rise 5:02PM. Set beaver traps before the rivers freeze. Time to prepare for Winter.
Cold Moon - December 4, Thursday rise 4:26pm. Coldest time.
A time for stillness, contemplation, and emotional healing.
"The Moon's orbit around the Earth is not circular but elliptical, meaning that the distance between the two varies throughout the year. If the Moon is full at its closest point to Earth - it is called the perigee - or within 90% of its closest point. That is when it can be referred to as a ‘Supermoon’. Supermoon’s seem to be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons.
