Each of these levels need all prior certifications ASA 201 and 203. 

All have the same elements:

• Classroom presentation either on a boat or in a classroom. 

• Skill demonstration of several skills required

• Teaching underway of key skills

• Written test for that level.

 

ASA 204 Bare Boat Cruising Instructor - 1 day Clinic held on a boat.

ASA 205 Coastal Navigation Instructor - 1 day Clinic held in a classroom

ASA 206 Advance Coastal Cruising Instructor - 2.5 days Held during a trip to Half Moon Bay (30 miles south of the Gate and back)

ASA 214 Cruising Multihull Instructor - 1 day Clinic held on a boat.

ASA 218 Docking Instructor - 1 day Clinic starts and ends in a classroom. Between  will dock 3 kinds of boats - outboard, midsize inboard and twin engine multihull.
