Each of these levels need all prior certifications ASA 201 and 203. 

All have the same elements:

• Classroom presentation either on a boat or in a classroom. 

• Skill demonstration of several skills required

• Teaching underway of key skills

• Written test for that level.

 

ASA 204 Bareboat Cruising Instructor - 1 day Clinic, held on a boat.

ASA 205 Coastal Navigation Instructor - 1 day Clinic, held in a classroom. 

​

ASA 206 Advanced Coastal Cruising Instructor - 2.5 days Clinic, held during a trip to Half Moon Bay (30 miles South of the Gate and back).

ASA 214 Cruising Catamaran Instructor - 1 day Clinic, held on a boat.

ASA 218 Docking Endorsement Instructor - 1 day Clinic, starts and ends in a classroom. Will dock 3 kinds of boats - outboard, midsize inboard and twin engine multihull.
