Afterguard Membership Options
There is a one time $550 membership initiation cost to become a member.
This fee can be waived when enrolling in three or more courses at membership initiation.
One year of membership dues is required. The first year of whatever level is chosen is paid up front.

Starting with the second year, dues can be paid monthly (recurring), or annually (saving 1mo).
Membership continuation is optional. Can be paused at any time, if traveling out of the country.
If more than 6mo lapsed, recurring (re)activation requires reinstatement fee $50 + 3mo pay.
Save big as a charter member
Charter Members can enjoy the special rates of 20% off courses and 40% off charter fleet rates, plus many social benefits. Monthly Member Credit $55, to use for the Group Practice Sails. Afterguard Members have their own special events, and enjoy cross membership in Oakland sailing Meetup at no additional charge. Lots to keep you sailing and meeting others who love to sail.

Chief members sail 15'- 23' as much as they want. Great for frequent sailors.
Chief Members, carry forward all the benefits of a Charter Members, and have unlimited use of boats 15'-25' --- once certified to ASA103. Need Competent Crew or First Mate onboard. Must have your own towing insurance for saltwater(!), plus the CA Boater's Card.

Skipper Members carry forward all the benefits of a Chief Member and have unlimited use of mid size vessels, once certified to ASA 103. Can take boats 15' - 27' with 1 competent crew or First Mate onboard.
Must have saltwater towing insurance and a CA Boater's Card.

Captain Members sail our larger size vessels once certified to ASA 104. Can take boats up to 32' with min of 1 Competent Crew or First Mate. Must have saltwater towing insurance and a CA Boater's Card.

Benefit of 50% discount for chartering Ohana (45') or Angel (cat 35'), once properly certified. Must have First Mate onboard, saltwater towing insurance and a CA Boater's Card.
