This progressive series of courses are offered year round. Challenges, for those who know how to sail but not certified to rent boats or to find what level to start, are always welcome.
Skill Builders
Courses described in this section are unique to Afterguard. These learning opportunities are designed to increase sailing skills and build confidence. If not on the calendar, put in a request or arrange a course for your private class or group.

Boats
Check out our boats! If you’re certified, rent a boat with you as her Skipper!

IQC
Three times a year Afterguard hosts Instructor Qualification Clinics. Captain Mary, first woman in ASA history to achieve the rank of Instructor Evaluator, has held IQCs every year since 1997. Considered one of the tougher Instructor Evaluators yet Instructor Candidates from around the world request her clinics. She is very proud of a recent Grad, Chris Larsen. Chris survived (passed) his first IQC then returned for two more for clinics till he completed 206 fall of 2010. Chris earned ASA’s 2010 “Sailing Instructor of the Year” for Northern California.

Afterguard Sailing Foundation provides courses for high school and college youth plus affordable vessel access once a student is ASA certified. Afterguard teaches water safety, greater awareness of the wonderful options on San Francisco Bay.
